Prof. Tumminelli

Keynot Speaker: Prof. Paolo TUMMINELLI

Paolo Tumminelli is a Professor for Design Concepts at the Köln International School of Design and at the Braunschweig University of Art. The focus of his research is on the history and evolution of modern consumer culture with a special emphasis on automobility, on which he has published numerous articles, interviews and books. Prof.
Tumminelli is, inter alia, the author of the 1,100–page trilogy »Car Design – Europe, USA, Asia«. Born in Italy, he studied architecture in Milan. From 2007 to 2010, he was a consultant at mindset ag, a Swiss pioneering company in the field of electromobility.

Qualification: Academic education: Karl-Franzens-University Graz, from 1979 to 1985. Academic degree: PhD, major subject: biology, minor subject: chemistry. Graz University of Technology from 1988-1993. Academic degree: Academically Trained Engineer for the Environment. Head of the Department of Environmental Protection of the City of Klagenfurt on Lake Wörthersee, Project Manager of EU-projects.
Short description of work experience, relevant to the proposal: The Department of Environmental Protection is responsible for the monitoring and inspection of industrial plants and SME’s, nature protection, monitoring of air and water, projects related to sustainable development, climate protection and ambient air quality. Project Manager of the LIFE projects KAPA GS (2004-2007), SPAS (2006-2009), CMA+ (2009-2012), CEMOBIL (2010-2015) and Central Europe project REZIPE (2010-2013), European Territorial Cooperation Programme SI-AT project PMinter (2010-2013), Modellregion project E-Log Klagenfurt (2012-2016).
